A Parking Lot Takeover!
This is a free, single-day community event centered around local live music, art, food, and beverage. It takes place in the parking lot outside Mateada, which will be closed to vehicles for the day to allow for human beings to gather on foot. The main mantras behind the occurrence of this festival is to create an opportunity for locals to gather and connect after the tourist season slows down, and to showcase just a small slice of the excellent music being written, practiced and performed right here on Salty. Beyond that, it is an experiment in what life can spring from pavement at the heart of our tiny island city.
This year features a lineup of 100% local talent – the bands on the bill either all live here or have members who live here and strong ties to the island.
Performing with Alan Kerr as part of the Closing Ceremonies.
The Anniversary ends as it began – with celebration, community, and in this case, cake!
Join us for an all-star local line-up of Oak & Bone, Makana Youth Choirs, Yael Wand, GISPA Dance students, the Jazz & Blues Society with Sue Newman, another special ArtSpring storyteller, and Billie Woods and El Jose to bring down the house with The Cuban Party.
Details to follow.
